Prof. D. Sc., Miroslava Kortenska (1953-2021) is a Bulgarian theatrе critic, culturologist and media expert.

She was a lecturer in Southwest University, Blagoevgrad, Faculty of Arts, Department of Audio-Visual Arts, Theatre and Cinema and researcher of the cultural processes of the 20th century. She taught under the Erasmus + program in 2018 at the Cyril and Methodius University, Faculty of Dramatic Arts, Skopje, Northern Macedonia. She has led the project "European Way of Culture" in connection with the Bulgarian candidacy for European Capital of Culture in 2019. Prof. Kortenska was the head of the research project "Cultural Dialogue Balkans-Europe" 2011, director of the Center "Balkans-Europe ”, 2012. She is a member of the Union of Bulgarian Writers and the Union of Scientists in Bulgaria. From 2008 to 2010 she was a member of the Art Council of the Bulgarian National Radio on the Hristo Botev program. 2009-2011 – author and host of the show "Door to Europe", which has two awards from the Education Committee of the EC. She has published a number of books, studies and articles. She is the author of the books: Bulgaria – the Beginning of Change (1994) – the collection has been translated into English and German; Cultural Vertical (1998), dedicated to contemporary Bulgarian culture, translated into English, German and French; Cultural Compass (2006), which explores the Balkan-Europe cultural dialogue; The Cultural Mission of the Circle Misal (Thought) (2008) –  about Pencho Slaveykov, Peyo Yavorov, Dr. Krastyo Krastev and Petko Todorov; Voice of Public Opinion (100 comments on the Bulgarian transition) (2011), a journalistic book presented by the European Alley of Culture in Sofia; Yavorov and the Theatre (2015) – a scientific monograph on the cultural and historical heritage of P. K. Yavorov. Prof. D. Sc.. Miroslava Kortenska is one of the victims of COVID-19 in 2021.
